Learn golf step by step

I remember a story about a young man who wanted to become a black belt in karate. He sought out the best teacher in all the land and went to meet him.

The first conversation with the teacher went like this:

Student: How long is it going to take to become a black belt?

Teacher: It will take 7 years of consistent training.

Student: I will train every day for 10 hours, and then I will be a black belt in 4 years.

Teacher: If you come to train every day and train for 10 hours per day, it will take you 10 years.

This example illustrates that attempting to rush a process or take shortcuts while learning without enough time to absorb the information will fail and lead to burnout. Success is best achieved step by step and is the resulting sum of small efforts.
