Golf Swing Training - Know Your Distances
Updated: Mar 20
Here are some average distances based on your skill level.
A typical driving range has measured markers located out in the field, which helps you measure the distance your ball travels, an essential knowledge to have when playing the game.
These markers are generally 75 yards, 100 yards, 125 yards, 150 yards, 175 yards, 200 yards, and 250 yards.
Knowing your distance is more important than knowing how far each club is "supposed" to go.
You'll quickly get an idea of whether you are a "long" hitter or "short" hitter by comparing yourself to those you play with; of course, hitting the ball a long way doesn't matter at all if you can't keep it straight.
Use this chart as a guideline. Individual results may vary.
