Golf Swing Training - Adding Power

A major power element in creating power in your swing is the spine angle changing from flexion (tilting forward) to extension (straightening up) throughout the swing to develop additional clubhead speed and launch.


To counteract, lifting the spine also creates a left-side bend side on the backswing and then a right bend on the swing.

The best way to practice side bending is by placing your arms across your chest, and as long as your left shoulder points down as you rotate, you have done it correctly and created the necessary side bend left.

Then turn back into your through swing feeling you are climbing under the way you went up, like you are throwing an uppercut in boxing.
