Building a pre shot routine

In general aligning to the ball is best understood with a railway track concept.
To do this consistently you need to build a pre-shot routine. Here is a 4 step pre-shot routine I recommend:
Make a practice swing behind the ball
Stand behind the ball and visualize the target in the distance and then draw focus into an intermediate target closer in.
Step your right foot out to the ball
Place the club down and align it precisely to your intermediate target
Set your left foot into your stance
Place your right foot into your stance.
Look at the target and then pull the trigger.
